Pizzeria La italiana

During my solo backpacking trip to discover the equator I stopped at Macas (after passing Gualaquiza). Having not eaten since the morning, after the long bus ride I was really hungry. I walked along the main street and 20 m from my hotel I saw this establishment where there were a lot of people. It’s Saturday evening around 8:30 p.m. This motivated me to go inside to see the menu. Usually, I avoid eating pasta or pizza while traveling because it's more expensive and it's not very local (except in Italy). But this time maybe I had the idea of eating pasta. When I saw the menu, several dishes inspired me. I saw a dish of pasta pass in front of me as I left the kitchen... and I said to myself: oh it's hearty and it looks very good! And so I ordered “spaghetti a la italiana” (5). The dish is hearty and very good. Fortunately I don't live here otherwise I would come often and gain weight. There are a lot of people with music. It's nice to eat here. You want a lively, good and plentiful place: come here! David (From Belgium).

We ate the most delicious lasagna here so far after 9 months in South America. And the most special Caesar salad: not as it should be (for example, in addition to chicken, it also had salami and ham), but very tasty! Good attention from the staff, even when it is busy. The restaurant has two open floors. On the ground floor you have the feeling that it is not an Italian restaurant but a fast food restaurant. The second floor, on the other hand, has a nice atmosphere.

Pasta is very good. Anything carbonara is good.

Highly recommended! I ordered the house special pizza and my friends had a house lasagna and mar e terra risotto. The 3 spectacular dishes! Very convenient prices.

Fixed stop if you are a fan of Italian food and are passing through Macas.The pizzas are the best there is, my recommendation is the Vegetarian combined with a White Romana.The lasagna is BBB, a value that you will not find anywhere else, due to its flavor and portion.Accompanied by an ice-cold hibiscus juice. 100% recommended.
